British Rifleman's Belt

Belt manufactured according to historical sources: conceived and executed with rigorous documentation to faithfully reproduce the models in use during the Napoleonic period. This belt is appropriate for various units of the time, among which the 95th Rifles as well as the Portuguese Caçadores who served in the Peninsular War. The design and details follow iconography and period examples, as illustrated in the reference images.

Materials and Construction

  • High-quality leather, cut and worked by specialized reenactors. The leather is dyed black using techniques that aim to reproduce the appearance and resistance of the surviving originals.

  • Snake-shaped buckle in cast brass, with precision in the reliefs and finish, reproducing the customary decorative motif on riflemen's belts.

  • Sewing and assembly performed by artisans with experience in historical reconstruction, ensuring durability and aesthetics consistent with period pieces.

Accessories and options

Includes ball pouch and sword bayonet frog as used in active service.

Additional alternatives and configurations are available upon selection: different combinations of pouches, supports, and fastening elements can be chosen to match variations in the uniforms and equipment of specific regiments.

Historical and functional use

Designed for use in historical reenactments, this belt replicates not only the image but also the functionality of the equipment of British riflemen and Portuguese Caçadores. The arrangement of the ammunition pouch and bayonet frog reflects practices of quick access in the field and in light combat, as documented in manuals and accounts from the period. The finish and weight approximate the tactile experience of an original belt, providing greater authenticity in reenactments, exhibitions, and studies of military equipment.
